Office of the New York County Clerk - The Office of the City Clerk is one of the oldest offices in New York. The city clerk serves both the City Council and the Municipal City. As Clerk of the City Council, the office is responsible for attesting all laws enacted by the city council and relevant legislation from the State Legislature. As City Clerk, the office attests to leases and deeds of the City property, grants, agreements, bonds, tax notes, and other forms of obligations of the City.
